Note: I used two six inch pieces of pipe instead of the twelve inch piece listed in the material list. That is the reason for the coupling in the middle.

Three 1/64 inch holes are drilled in the each brass pipe cap. Two holes are horizontal on top and one is on the outside sixty degrees from vertical. Each hole is tilted forward approximately thirty degrees from vertical. The wires placed in the holes in the picture indicate the location and angle of each hole. By experimenting the optimum arrangement can be determined. The idea is to spread the flame evenly across the bottom of the pan.
